This product is designed for newborns between 6 to 12 pounds, as well as small babies that are up to 18 pounds in weight. Made out of a couple of different fabrics, including microfleece and Muslin cotton, it is one of the softest sleepsacks on the market. Not only that, but the innovative 3-way swaddle seems like the perfect solution for an easy transition to a regular sleep blanket.

While it comes in just a single color – cream – we still consider it to be a great choice for both boys and girls!

Who is This Wearable Blanket (Swaddle) for?

First and foremost, we consider this sleepsack to be an ideal investment if you are a new parent or if you are just about to become one. It is a fact that newborn babies are likely to experience a startle reflex or “Moro”, and a product such as this one can go a long way when it comes to preventing that. Additionally, as it is suitable for infants up to 18 pounds in weight, we consider it to be a universal and unisex product that has multiple uses.

Furthermore, it comes at a reasonable price, which means that even parents on a tight budget will be able to afford it!

What’s Included?

Among the most common questions in a review article is what comes in the box – in this case, nothing but the sleepsack itself. There is no instruction manual or fancy accessories. However, the quality of the product justifies the reasonable price that it is set at.

Overview of Features

First and foremost, we were quite happy to see that, much like many high-end blankets, this one is made out of Muslin cotton. That fabric is considered to be one of the softest and most comfortable on the market. Also, it is incredibly breathable, which goes a long way when it comes to ensuring that your baby is neither too cold nor too hot while sleeping.

As it is one of the most popular choices in nurseries, we weren’t surprised to find out that the 3-way swaddle is probably the best solution for ensuring an undisturbed sleep. While your baby is comfortable, it isn’t completely restricted because this sleepsack is stretchy. However, it still ensures a safe sleeping environment. Additionally, the larger arm and neck openings are there to provide a more secure fit.

Also, the zipper mechanism is quite reliable and will allow you to change diapers without unswaddling your baby. The only issue that we have with it is that the Velcro patches are a bit too big.

Other than that, the design is stylish, durable, and reliable, making this Halo Sleepsack the perfect investment for any worried parent!

How to Use Halo Sleepsack

There are three different ways that you can swaddle your newborn. The first and most common one is the “arms in” style, which is the best method for preventing startle reflex. The second one is “hands to face”, which allows more freedom of movement and ensures more comfort. Lastly, the “1-2 arms out” technique is just perfect if you want to get your baby used to a less restrictive blanket before swapping the sleepsack for a regular one.

Alternative

Zipadee Zip-Swaddle Sleepsack

For babies that are between 8 and 13 pounds and 18 to 26 inches long, this Zipadee Zip-Swaddle Sleepsack looks like the perfect alternative to the aforementioned Halo product. Made out of 55% cotton and 45% modacrylic, it can be worn year-round and is designed for both boys and girls.

Summary

At the end of the day, it all comes down to whether a sleepsack is something that you are looking for or not. When it comes to this type of product, we consider the Halo Sleepsack to be a fantastic investment, given the fact that it is incredibly reliable and allows for an easy swaddling transition!
