Who is this sleepsuit for?
The Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit is designed for only a short window of time in your baby’s development. It is recommended for about 3 months of age, or when your baby is ready to be transitioned out of his swaddle. This sleepsuit should not be used for babies that are already rolling over or are trying to roll over. For that reason this sleepsuit is really best for only a few months window.
Features
We love the Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit because it is made of plush breathable cotton inner layer with a warm soft microfleece outer layer. It keeps baby warm while letting her skin breath. It also features two zippers to allow for quiet and easy undressing. It does not however have a leg zipper in case you need to change your baby’s diaper in the middle of the night and you have the skill to do it without waking her… kudos to you if you can!
How to Use it
This sleepsuit is a wonderful solution for the short window of time after your baby is done with swaddles and before he rolls over. First use the Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit during nap time, so that you can watch how your baby reacts to wearing it. If he rolls over, or if he fights the sleepsuit too much, than it isn’t the right sleepwear for him. Once your baby has had a few successful naps in the sleepsuit, introduce it for night time sleep.
The Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit should not be used for co-sleeping or in combination with any other sleep devices or sleep positions. It is meant to be used in a bare crib only in a room at the recommended temperature for babies
Follow the sizing chart specifically for Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit. There are two sizes; small and large. Choose the size that is right for your baby based on his weight and age.
When to stop using it
Just like all baby products there is an appropriate age of use. You wont expect your 10 year old to walk to school in his sleepsuit like Randy from the Christmas Story. The Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit is indented as a temporary solution and sleepwear to help your baby bridge the time between the swaddle and rolling over. Once your baby starts showing signs of rolling over, or using his crib bars to pull up, stop using the sleepsuit.
Stop using the Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit if your baby is over 21 lbs, even if she is still not rolling over or showing signs of rolling over.
